My name is Jamie Boley and welcome to Polar Bear Forge. This is my personal website where I display my knives, as well as some of the other projects that I work on.  You'll also find information about me and my philosophy about bladesmithing.

First, I do everything that I can in the construction of my blades.  I normally forge them to initial shape rather than use stock removal.  Stainless and certain damascus patterns are the only exceptions.  I do all of the shaping, sanding, heat treating, finishing, and sheathwork myself. Remember that even stainless steel blades can rust when not cared for properly, they are stainless, not stainproof.  Here is a copy of the care and feeding instructions that I normally include with my knives.

Currently, my designs range from simple utility knives to bowie knives to scramasax influenced knives.  The pictures in the gallery show a cross section of the work that I've done.  If there's a design that you would like and you don't see it in the gallery, I can still make it.  I will do custom orders of your design or mine.
